Those Dancing Feet

"...on the avenue I'm taking you to, 42nd Street!" Yeah, that's where the title comes from. Anyway, this piece is made of colored pencil (the feet and parts of the colorfulness around the edges), oil pastel (edges and area between the feet), acrylic paint (everywhere except the feet), and even some glitter (between the feet), on green construction paper. The idea of this, cheesy as it sounds, is that dance = magic inside, and magic outside the body/self. I had some trouble coming up with what to paint between the feet to represent the "magic inside" part - I tried and painted over 3 different ideas before I came up with this. Along the way I went a little glitter happy, and there might be glitter ground into my bedroom floorboards forever. But now there's a nice controlled amount of glitter, and I'm happy with it, so I hope you are too!
